Berkeley gives you more ways to match the learning format to the job. The three-day AI for Executives program is useful if you want a concentrated strategic reset without committing half a year. It covers AI adoption, agentic systems and competitive advantage, and Berkeley lists it at US$6,500.

The online Artificial Intelligence: Business Strategies and Applications program is a very different proposition. At two months and US$3,050, its published structure is closer to what many self-funded managers actually need: business applications, live and recorded teaching, cases, simulations and a capstone, without the executive-program price tag. The catch is availability. Berkeley currently shows no upcoming dates.

At the other end, the Berkeley Executive Program in AI and Digital Strategy is broader and more expensive than Wharton. It runs for eight months, costs US$28,000 and is aimed at executives moving from AI experimentation to enterprise deployment.

Which fits a non-technical VP better?

Choose Wharton if you are a senior leader, your employer is paying, you can sustain 4-6 hours a week for six months, and you want to build an AI strategy or roadmap alongside the course.

Choose Berkeley AI for Executives if your calendar is the binding constraint and you want a short, high-intensity program with an executive peer group.

Choose Berkeley's shorter online business AI program if it reopens and you are paying personally. On the published structure and price, it is a much easier value proposition for a manager who wants applied AI literacy rather than a flagship executive credential.

Choose Berkeley's eight-month program only if AI and digital transformation are central to your remit. That is a broader leadership commitment, not simply an AI course.
