Is Coursera Plus worth it in 2026?
Estimated reading time: 2 min
We looked at whether the all-access subscription actually pays off for AI and data learners specifically, not just the general cost maths.
Quick verdict
Compare your actual course choices and study schedule before subscribing. Annual billing is cheaper than seven monthly payments at the current US reference prices, but it does not automatically pay for itself after two courses.
Coursera Plus is a subscription, not a promise that every course is included. Check each programme’s current listing before buying.
Current reference prices
The official page lists US$59 per month and US$399 per year. Regional prices, promotions and taxes may differ. Confirm your checkout amount and cancellation terms.
When does annual billing make sense?
At those reference prices, six monthly payments total US$354 and seven total US$413. Annual billing becomes cheaper than seven monthly payments, provided you actually need access that long. This compares billing plans, not the cost of individual courses.
Two US$49 purchases total US$98, which is below US$399. There is no universal rule that an annual plan pays for itself after two courses. Compare the actual price and expected duration of your chosen programmes.
Check inclusion and access
- Confirm that each target programme is included in Plus.
- Compare a monthly plan with annual billing and any available individual purchase.
- Read the trial, refund and cancellation terms at checkout.
- Distinguish a free first-module preview from full course access.
Our assessment
A subscription can suit a learner with several relevant programmes and a realistic study schedule. A short learning goal may be cheaper with a shorter plan or another provider. Select the curriculum first and the payment plan second.
