DataCamp AI courses

DataCamp teaches through in-browser exercises rather than video, which is the whole argument for and against it. Here is what is in our catalogue, and what we think of it.

DataCamp is one of two providers we have a confirmed affiliate relationship with, so treat everything below with that in mind: the links to DataCamp courses on this page are affiliate links and are labelled as such. Our methodology page sets out how commission is bounded, and why it cannot lift a worse-fitting course above a better one.

What DataCamp is good at

The in-browser exercise format is the differentiator. You write real code against real datasets with instant feedback, which defeats the passive-watching failure mode of video courses. For analysts and career changers building genuine muscle memory in SQL and Python, that format is worth more than a longer video syllabus.

Where it falls short

The scaffolded exercises make the jump to a blank editor at work larger than your progress suggests, the certificate carries less weight with employers than a university-branded credential, and the subscription has no natural end point, which suits continuous learners and quietly costs everyone else. We say all of this at greater length in the reviews below.

Alternatives worth comparing

If the interactive format appeals but the credential matters more, compare against the university options in our guide for data analysts. If cost is the deciding factor, the free AI courses list covers what you can learn for nothing first.
